I have been so happy and pleased with the ways in which we have been celebrating our churches ministry for these 150 years. Instead of having just one grand day of worship and fellowship the Healthy Church Leadership decided to take 150 days (May – September) and celebrate ministry in terms of “150”. Here are the things we have done: 150 items given to Cottage Food Pantry 150 minutes working in the Garden for the community 150 water bottles given out at Good Egg Days 150 invites to Vacation Bible School (VBS) 150 dollars collected for VBS Mission Project 150 slices of pie/bars/cookies for Ragbrai 150 dollars given to support our Cub Scouts 150 quarters given out at the Laundry (after its re-opening) Praise God! And, and, and…what is really amazing is that all of these things were accomplished over and beyond the “150” mark. And, and, and,… we are not done yet. Glory to God! Amen! We ask that you join us for our Grand Celebration Birthday Party on September 15th. It will begin with worship and end with fellowship. We will: Worship, Praise, and Thank God (I am even bringing a special offering of thanksgiving of “$150”, of course your welcome to join me!) Eat! A meal will be provided and of course there will be birthday cake! Play games and have activities (It is a birthday PARTY after all!) And everyone will go home with a special gift! However, this birthday party is not just for us, it is for anyone who would like to come and celebrate what God has done for these 150 years of ministry.
